My Favorite Series

The Fosters ♥

Without a doubt, The Fosters is my favorite series at the moment. This series was pretty important for me, I loved it because it addresses controversial issues: immigration, same-sex marriage, racism, adoption, homophobia and familiar troubles. It is important to talk about these issues, we NEED to talk about these stuffs.

The Fosters is a series about family, where we are spectators of their daily life and the troubles they have to handle with. This special family is composed for a lesbian interracial couple (Stef Foster and Lena Adams), Stef's biological son and two latin childen they adopted. As time goes by, Lena decided to foster temporally Callie and Jude, two children coming from abusive families. At the beginning, Stef and Lena had no intentions of adopt them, but their relationship reinforced.

Stef Foster (played by Teri Polo) is a police officer and her couple Lena Adams (Sherri Saum) is the principal of a school. Brandom (David Lambert) is Stef's biological son, product of their last marriage. Mariana and Jesús (Cierra Ramirez and Jake T. Austin) are their adoptive children, originating from Mexico. Finally, Callie and Jude (Maia Mitchell and Hayden Byerly) are the foster kids, that get adopted by Stef and Lena.

I heavily recommend this series because it helps us to realize that familiar troubles affect us all. Furthermore, this serie helps us to empathize with people that nowadays is still being discriminated by their sexual prefference, gender, raze, nationality, etc. The Fosters shows us that we are all the same, we all can be loved and be part of a beautiful family. The only requirement is to be a good person, the rest is insignificant. Personally, I've even cried with this serie, for me is so special and I loved the way this family always manages to stay together and overcome the troubles thought communication and LOVE. All we need is love.
